Groups
Pages
Any Facebook users can create a page and pages are usually
for groups or organizations like businesses and brands to advertise themselves
and to connect with people globally. When a user likes pages, user will be
informed with updates in News Feed. With a page, the creator can customize
pages like posting and sharing relating news and creating events. However, if
you must be an official representative to create and represent pages for a
business and organization.
I personally had created page for my startup business long
time ago with my friends and I remember that it was very useful and accessible
for business purposes particularly. It also showed data of how many people were
visiting, liked, or commented/posted throughout the day and week. Also, I
personally click like on pages that are interesting to me so that I can get an
update on current information and news regarding that page.
On the other hand, Facebook group features allow the users
to connect with more enclosed groups like club groups, members, teammates,
family, and etc. The creator can manage groups to be private or public and it
allows communicating, posting and sharing anything and with anyone.
Few of the differences between pages and groups are privacy,
audience, and communication. I think main difference is regarding privacy - pages
are public available to all users while groups allow to manage setting to a public
or privacy, in which groups page are only visible to the members once it is
closed groups.
